Student around the globe have experienced several very erratic years during their vitally important emotionally developmental years. The counseling department in our district pivots daily to ensure that each of our students are receiving what they need to maintain mental health and strive for future success.
Our students have worked so hard to hang in there and fight for their education, mental health, their future endeavors, as well as some sense of normalcy. They have watched previous generations and siblings before them reach milestones, and celebration them in ways that they have not been able to repeat. Our students have accepted this fact and have strived to make the most of curves in their educational road. They have learned from home, met over video chat and managed to attend school safely all year last year.
First and foremost, creating this space for students to process their emotions and understand them will help them rise from their current circumstances with resilience and drive. Mental health is strongly valued in our school district and these resources will be available for student 7-12th grade. Our hope is that students will be able to use these resources and the items in this designated space to maintain mental clarity when needed. We are very proud of our students and want to support them to put themselves first.
