Students will experience the garden daily in this hands on project since it is located just outside the door of our school. They will look at plant cells and learn about our plants on a cellular level. The students are currently studying about photosynthesis and plant cells so this would be a great addition to our study. We will attract pollinators to our garden by using the butterfly feeder. The students and I hope to add a butterfly garden next year. The first step this year will be to test the garden soil and create a plan to maximize the growing potential of our 12 raised beds. The soil testing kits will be very helpful.
