Our students are returning to in person learning and they are bringing in anxiety and stress from the time spent away from school. Yoga is a practice that can help calm and get refocused and centered back into the school routine.
Finding a way to clam the mind and body while returning to school is the priority, our students need to have resources to reset their spirits and prepare for being in person again.
These materials are also easy to clean and sanitize after each use, which is also very important. Intervention supports have to get creative in during this time to support students in new safer ways then some of our traditional practices. The yoga station will provide mats and cards to learn yoga positions. While also having space for more traditional exercises posters to get the wiggles out. Sensory supports are also important, with circle textile pads & a calming LED light station to help regulate breathing and settle the body. Then every intervention space needs a corner to cover feeling and a great feelings chart with pictures will help kids identify their own feelings. This room will serve as a place to regulate and utilize a range of different supports.
