I am a teacher at an alternative high school and will be teaching a nutrition and wellness course for our students. The course will focus on creating inexpensive healthy meals without a stove or oven.
Many of our students live in substandard housing or couch-surf. Although we work hard to get them into stable housing, that is not always feasible, and even is it is, it takes time. My goal is for all students to learn to cook using a crockpot because they are portable, efficient, and regardless of living conditions, most of our students have access to electricity. In addition to teaching the students how to cook certain recipes, I would like to be able to send the ingredients home with them so that they can cook them for themselves.
I am requesting 2 and 4.5 qt crockpots, measuring cups, measuring spoons.
