Who didn't love their childhood bike posse? Students in our Therapeutic Bike Riding Program work year-round to gain skills needed to join their Unified PE class in the annual Bike Field trip.
Cycling ability is incredibly liberating to students and their families. Parents cry happy tears when their special needs children join the posse for the first time.
The ambulatory but severely gravitationally insecure segment of our student population desperately needs a recumbent tricycle to successfully engage in cycling activities. With its lower center of gravity, youth not successful on a conventional upright tricycle often find great success on a recumbent cycle.
Independent recreational mobility in school and community is emotionally powerful. Cycling provides great low impact exercise critical to long term health for those less structurally sound. Proven success riding a recumbent tricycle where conventional tricycles have failed gives families hope and reason to pursue the acquisition of this expensive recreational mobility tool. Please support our students and families.
