The students who I serve are those who cannot function in the general education classroom due to behavior or disability. These materials will help me help them to learn in a way that works for them despite their challenges. Specifically, my students struggle with sensory overload and need frequent breaks to refocus. The carpet and fidget toys provide a space for scholars to decompress and relax before getting back to work. In addition, including games for my students gives them an opportunity to learn in a nontraditional way that makes feel like they are having fun. Essentially, all items are beneficial to my students because they are specific to their needs and how we run the resource room.
