Teaching math during this time has led to a transition of mostly online assignments. My students do a lot of drag and drop activities that can be difficult to do with a mousepad on the Chromebook, especially with those who have special needs. Some receive occupational therapy or have difficulty with hand eye coordination.
Much of my subject matter is graphing or plotting points and the use of a computer mouse makes this task simpler and less daunting for these students.
A few of my students have had the luxury of being able to bring their own computer mouse from home but many of my students are unable to do so, making assignments more of a struggle for them.
