Interactive board books are requested for the students in my classroom. Looking at and listening to books during small group and individual story time is an area of difficulty for many of the students I work with. I would like board books that are interactive, such as those with flaps, to use with my students at school. Using interactive books with my students can encourage them to become more involved with the book. Having interactive books in our classroom library center will hopefully encourage the students' interest in looking at these books.
It would also be beneficial to send home copies of the interactive books to the families of the children to enable them to practice their book reading skills together. This way, the families will have the proper material (book) to work with their child at home in order reinforce what we are teaching at school. We all need to work together to ensure that our students/children achieve.
