Sometimes students get tired, fidgety, worried, anxious, or just plain amped up. These tools will be housed in my counseling office for students to use to process their emotions in a safe place. Students will learn how to self-regulate their emotions and calm down. Many of my students come from various life situations and circumstances. They often come to school feeling overwhelmed with difficult emotions. Providing them with a safe place, supportive counseling and the use of therapeutic books can help them overcome these struggles. The goal is to help students cope with these emotions so they can focus on learning and grow into happy and strong contributing members of society. These books can help them discover ways to cope and manage their emotions and behaviors. My goal is to use these books in small group counseling and individual counseling with students. The information gained from these books will help them focus academically and progress socially, leaving them with nothing but endless opportunities to show the world what they have to offer! Without them carrying around these difficult emotions and negative thoughts they’re free to do whatever they desire. I want my students to set goals and to achieve them. It takes hard work and perseverance, but I believe in them and strive to help them believe in themselves!
