This year, our preschool funds were cut in half, which has made purchasing new manipulatives difficult. The Tyson Grant would be a blessing for my classroom!
I chose manipulatives that would give new and exciting opportunities for children to increase their academic/intellectual skills, social/emotional skills, and fine motor skills.
The specific skills that students would be working on with the new manipulatives would be counting, shape recognition, number and letter recognition, and matching. The manipulatives would also challenge their creative and strategic skills; such as building towers, animals, houses and whatever else their creative minds could dream up!
The sensory toys I have requested would be placed in my Exploration Table. Sensory toys are meant to stimulate our 5 senses. They are great for improving brain stimulation, coordination, social skills and more. In return, sensory toys enhance learning experiences! My kids LOVE playing with sensory toys and would be so excited for new sensory explorations.
