A strong foundation in science and engineering is key to success in the 21st century. This printer will be housed in the media center, which is the hub of our school. All student from grades K-5 will benefit from being able to see something being printed and our intermediate students will benefit even more by being able to create, design, and print their own projects.
When you have a 3D printer in a school, the opportunities and benefits are endless! Students will be given different engineering tasks where they have to problem solve and create a solution for different STEAM problems. They will also get to create their own designs and see them come to life. We also plan on using the printer to print different artifacts and models that the students may other wise not be exposed to, for example, a life sized T-Rex skull, or a replica of a Native American arrowhead.
