Kids nowadays have so many stressors: at home, at school, in social relationships. The world is different now then when we were kids and new world problems require new world solutions. However, in a world full of skill building, academic standards, and "passing the test," often times, creative thinking gets pushed to the side. The DESIGN Cycle is about creating solutions to real-world problems, in creative and innovative ways. It's about thinking outside of the box and solving challenges, while developing the stamina to persevere in light of obstacles. It's about finding your passion, and making the world a better place in the process. Through the use of robotics and the DESIGN Cycle, it is my goal to engage and motivate students to think critically about the world around them, and look for solutions, rather than focusing on the problem. Students will learn about programing, electronic assembly, and robotics. Then they will apply their learning to design and create robots to follow basic-moderate commands, and simplify daily tasks.
