These books will allow me to introduce my students to the Holocaust. These book allow me the opportunity to get the books into their hands so they can either practice reading aloud or can follow along. They can then use the books to go back into for research and to answer questions.
I want to inspire my students to find the theme of this story and realize that they too can overcome trauma, survive, and move on to thriving.
Reading this story and using these books will allow me to introduce my students to a topic they normally wouldn't be taught until high school. This also will show them that individual subjects are not independent of each other. They will see that it is ok to learn about history while working on reading, comprehension and writing in English.
