To My Most Generous Donors, I am new to Kansas, moving here this year from California where I taught for 22 years. My students there had such amazing technology that made learning more engaging, which means memorable. As teachers, we have a lot to compete with when making our lessons engaging. I believe that the more kids are out of their seats and interacting with the learning process, the more they will retain. This will keep with them long after they walk out of my room on that last day of 5th grade. By having an interactive Smart Board in my room, my students, not just now, but in the future, will be able to actively be out of their seat competing, learning, and educating themselves and others through the use of this technology. According to the Kansas State Standards, students must be able to interact with technology to enhance their understanding of materials, apply to research, and incorporate into their tasks at hand. This board will allow that to happen today, and for years to come.

About my class
