Ukuleles bring a whole new environment into the classroom. Students will learn the cultural and historical importance of the ukulele. While my kinesthetic learners will be able to show their talents with strumming new chords and taking steps to learning new pop songs.
When students are given the chance to inspire a new art form and shine they encourage others to do the same. Learning a new instrument does not only help with discipline it allows students to express their individuality through music. I have noticed that when students are allowed to express themselves they do well in other aspects of their lives.
Having ukuleles in the music classroom gives the students a chance to learn individually and in groups. These social interactions positively impact their mood which keeps them willing and engaged in their learning. They are given an opportunity to lead and inspire their own learning.
