John F. Kennedy, a former President of the United States, once stated that "Children are the world's most valuable resource and the best hope for the future."
Since children are the most valuable resource, it is important that my black and brown students have a classroom with basic necessities like crayons, white boards for both math and reading, headphones, pencil cases, and ect.
When using these supplies my students need to feel comfortable to learn to the best of their ability. This is why flexible seating will be a great resource in my classroom. The Surf Portable Lap Desk will give my students who have a hard time sitting at a desk for a long period time the ability to work in different area of the classroom and still feel comfortable. My students are very active and need different options to help them complete their work. We will use white boards to help us works through math and reading problems which will help increase our problem solving and critical thinking skills. Due to COVID 19, students will also need their own pencil cases to keep their materials organized. Also with the new way of learning students will be working more on their Chromebooks and will each need a set of headphones.
They deserve to walk into a classroom that offers them the best opportunities to learn. By donating to this project you will be supporting educational equity and ensuring that former President Kennedy's words become a reality. My students and I greatly appreciate you support!
