These materials will give students a chance to complete the work they began prior to Covid shutting the schools down. For example, the micro bits would teach the students about how hardware and software work together. Unfortunately, our Girls Who Code club meetings were cut short. Giving underrepresented students a chance to experience hands-on quality Computer Science activities shows them that they have a place in our technological economy.
I'm very proud of the way my students have persevered this year. Students will use these materials to create computer science projects that deal with computational thinking, networks, programming, etc. These micro bits and raspberry pis will give them opportunities to experience success while building coding confidence.
