I would like to start using flexible seating in my classroom! I think that flexible seating promotes student engagement. Flexible seating is a great way to provide an engaging learning environment for students. Flexible seating gives the students a choice in their classroom. Studies have shown that flexible seating helps students who have difficulties with attention. Things like wobble seats, yoga balls, and fidget bands help students with their fidgeting so they are able to stay engaged in class. For example, I have two students who need to stand up at certain times during the day, in order to stay engaged in the lesson. Flexible seating will allow them to have movement so they are able to stay focused. Flexible seating is also a great way to provide comfort to students. I have a student that can sometimes get overwhelmed emotionally and he needs a soothing chair or area to help him stay calm. I would really love the chance to use flexible seating in my classroom! Thank you!
