I expect the students to write a book report every month. I want them to have a choice in reading materials that they may not have access to from other sources than my class library. I’m a new teacher and do not have the resources myself to build the library up the way I imagine. This would be an excellent start. When the students love the books that they are reading, it won’t feel like work, and we may create lifelong readers. I have very empty bookshelves at the moment, I would love to fill those in.
