When students are in a traditional classroom, they are not always allowed the opportunity to use manipulatives, such as the sensory fidget toys while they work. They are also not allowed to choose their seating. When they come in the safe space they will have the option of sitting in a chair or on the exercise balls while they are meeting with the School Social Worker and Psychologist. The safe space will be game themed, the posters will provide an opportunity for the students to feel like they are in a different space then a traditional classroom. The liquid floor tiles will be utilized to meet sensory needs.
