Our school recently had tile installed to replace the carpet we had previously. Because of this, it is not comfortable for my students to gather on the floor. As second graders, it is important for us to have a place to gather and share our ideas with each other. We use this space for our morning meeting which builds classroom community, read together, and learn important lessons in skills in all subject areas. My students will be more engaged and ready to learn by having a comfortable space to gather together.
