I am responsible for providing my groups of students the best reading and writing intervention within my ability. I would love to be able to supplement their current intervention with materials from the Wilson Just Words reading program. This program is an explicit, multi-sensory decoding and spelling program that targets older readers to help fill gaps in these areas. I have seen great success with other groups of students that have used Wilson.
To get us started in supplementing our current program, we are needing magnetic journals, Readers, and Cards. The magnetic journals are important because they provide the students a hands-on experience with the encoding and decoding process. Research has shown that the multi-sensory type of learning has helped learners not only read and spell better, but do it with more fluency and accuracy.
