The library has always been the heart of my classroom -- a place where you can fall into the pages of a book, and come out with greater understanding of Spanish language and culture. With such a large number of diverse students this year, I'm noticing new questions about the reading material I already have. Are there any more copies of that Jurassic Park book? Do I, perhaps, have something on boxing? What about one with swordfights?
Each book I add to my class library is a treasure for the right student to uncover, and the key to getting them "hooked" on reading (and Spanish) for life. I love supporting individual student interests and expanding their brains at the same time. So, I'm hoping to add a few more topics to our class library, such as biographies of famous sports players, books about videogames, technology, fantasy, heated historical battles, and a few more books that newer students will feel comfortable starting off with.
