Special needs children need a lot of support and repetition to bridge the learning gap that they are facing. My job as a special educator is to provide not only the layered instruction that these sweet students need, but also the special tools that aid in their development. These alphabet mats and the sensory beads will allow all of my students to safely participate in forming the letters while following COVID protocols, and the beads will provide the sensory experience that many need. The sensory mats will provide further opportunities for the students to explore sensory inputs.
These special children have many challenges that they will have to face in their lifetimes, but learning in my classroom should not be one of them. These tools will provide the additional support needed for my students, while also taking care of their sensory needs.
