Students enter my classroom as 12th graders and I want them to start seeing themselves as young adults preparing to leave high school and going into the real world. I want them to feel inspired in my room, to go out and make a difference in their community. Calendars will help us to organize all the community service opportunities, and posters on the wall hope to motivate students to become agents of change in their own lives, and their community.
My classroom should be an environment where students can take risks, problem-solve, and as I say often, "throw their hat in the ring, to solve a community problem that is troubling to them."
