These calculators will be used to help the students make the connections necessary between the equations, graphs, tables of values, and applications of the various functions that we investigate. These honors students are from a low-income area and cannot afford their own graphing calculator. We currently use a class set that is over 10 years old. They are functional; but, like all old technology, they are slow and just not as good as the current ones.
These calculators will allow the students to follow along with every key stroke. This is the model that I have the ability to project, while the students are trying to follow along with a much older version, that is missing many of the features I use.
