My students use white boards and markers on a daily basis in my small intervention groups to help them focus and show their work. The white boards allow them to show their work and correct mistakes easily. They know that it is okay to make mistakes while learning as it helps the brain grow. The students also love to build words, practice blends and diagraphs and show answers on the white boards. The folding rolling table will allow me to take a portable space to each classroom that I push into during the day. The table will help the students focus better because they will not be distracted by sitting on the rug. I will be able to be closer to all the students to reinforce skills.
My students learn best when they are engaged in hands-on learning activities. Ours is a Title I school with 97% of our students receiving free or reduced meals. My students are sweet and truly want to learn and be successful. It is also important for the students to continue to work on organizational skills which the carts will help reinforce.
This project will help my students feel important and get excited when they see their table and cart show up at their classroom door. I am requesting a cart for each of the three grade levels that I service. The cart will be housed in a room within each grade level. The folding table will be used for all grade levels.
