Students at Title I schools do not always get the opportunity to experience different situations outside of their normal environment. My students live in a rural area with a focus on agricultural. As a high school math teacher and a computer science teacher, I get the opportunity to expose my students to new exciting content content. My students and I have a computer lab that was created during pre-planning. There was not a lot of time to get it situated the way I would have liked.
Learning in a computer lab can get uncomfortable when you have basic chairs. To remedy this I would like to get the cushions to help students have better posture and be more comfortable so they feel like learning. Since I am in a lab, my computers are not all facing the SmartBoard so I have a couple of tables where I would love to put the stability balls. Students that do not want to move to tables can use clipboards to write on as they turn towards the board.
I think these small changes will help increase the productivity of my students by giving them an area that is comfortable so discomfort is not an issue that will distract them from learning.
