I am asking for these items for my classroom because I want to provide my students with an environment that not only helps them to feel welcomed, but also fosters their social-emotional development. The students in my EBD classroom, when surveyed, all concurred with one common interest: they love superheroes! This fact inspired me to create a superhero-themed classroom that they can all be encouraged by. Our classroom now is bare and cold, it saddens me to think that the room has been neglected for so long.
I would love to spark creativity and provide these students with a warm classroom setting that they have never experienced. Once I receive these supplies, I aim to utilize the decorations to spark a deeper understanding of morals within each of my students. By using the passion, they already have (superheroes), I believe I can reach them on a deeper level by guiding them to regulate their behaviors when applying a goal of becoming a superhero. By creating projects centered around how they can exhibit behaviors that resemble their favorite superheroes, the students will be encouraged to develop moral strength.
I want to show these students their potential and teach them through critical examination of their personal goals. With these supplies, the classroom will be warm, welcoming, and a place that my students can call home. These decorations will also send a message of validation to the children to show them that they are worth a beautiful classroom centered around the things the love the most.
