The students in my classroom need an independent work area to complete assignments and activities. These desks will be used as an independent area, but are small enough that they can be moved together to create a larger work area for students to work in pairs. These would provide a personalized area where individualized, specialized materials can be stored. Many different activities occur at the same time in our room. While students complete academic activities through direct instruction with teachers, other students complete independent pre-academic activities such as sorting, matching, writing, reading, and coloring. These desks would provide an excellent work space for my students to practice skills independently.
