This project is specifically used to help reward my students for their hard work. In our school we have a system called PBIS rewards, in which students receive points for positive academics and behavior. Students then get a choice in how they spend these points. Due to the fact our students have not been in school for almost two years they are really enjoying the ability to buy what they can from what they have earned. They have already bought me out of my own classroom store 3 times since the beginning of the school year, which I bought with all my own money. I simply can not keep up with that demand.
By contributing to this project you will be directly giving students rewards for academic excellence in the sixth grade or for exemplary behavior in sixth grade. This will benefit students by having the opportunity to receive an extrinsic reward for the excellence they have shown. These students have worked hard throughout the pandemic and are continuing to be resilient. It is the least I can do to provide fun and rewarding rewards for these students as they have worked hard for them!
