After reading articles about how elementary students need to start their day with exploration and choice in our first "regular" school year since 2018, I started incorporating Exploration Time each day. I am hoping to help my students transition back to a more normal looking school day by giving them time to work together, problem solve, and be motivated to get through activities that make them struggle. Students will use these materials at school during our Exploration Time where they can build, create, draw, play games, and learn how to communicate with each other in a healthy way.
