A classroom rug will provide a comfortable place for my students to sit. The floors in my room are just tile, which can make for a very cold seat. We will use this rug as a "home base" and many activities will take place as we meet for the opening and closing of our day, story time, interactive writing, and small group tasks. It will promote community and a close knit classroom while still maintaining social distancing. It will help my students work together establishing a great sense of community and teamwork.
