Second graders are in the middle between primary students (K-1) and intermediate (3-5). We are just beginning to learn better self control and be able to sit for longer periods of time, but we still to need to move and be active. We have several students returning from at home learning who are getting used to spending a full day at school again and many of our students are below grade level. We have a lot of material to cover this year, but if we are constantly redirecting and managing excess energy, it takes away from the time we spend really learning. While we give lots of breaks throughout the day, our students are still learning to manage their growing bodies and personal space in a room with lots of other students learning to manage the same things.
By donating to our project, you would give us more tools to help manage our energy and stress to learn more successfully. By taking care of our social emotional and physical needs, we will be able to demonstrate our abilities and growth academically!
