My students love our daily read-aloud. With these stories, I can model how to read with expression, think aloud, wonder and question, and discuss how to attack unfamiliar words, both for meaning and pronunciation. Reading books with relatable characters and situations is also an important piece of my students' social-emotional learning. A great read-aloud is an opportunity for me to read more sophisticated novels and work through understanding together as a class. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students have loved the books we've read so far, and I can't wait to share these stories with them.
