The band program at my school disappeared due to Covid-19 and was left with very little supplies to start up again. These reeds will be used to bring music to a community that has gone without a band for several years.
Funding this project will provide students with the necessary tools to participate in band class and alleviate the pressure from the parents to purchase additional materials for school.
Reeds deteriorate quickly, build mold, or break easily and will need to be replaced frequently. These reeds are essential for sound production on clarinets and saxophones. Many students at my school are interested in learning an instrument for the first time and have never had the resources to do so. These reeds are the last thing on the list of resources to get this band started!
