My students will learn job and communication skills by having a school store open during lunch time, everyday at school. They will learn cash handling skills, count inventory, and run daily sales reports. They will also be selling the merchandise and working on appropriate interactions with same-aged peers. All of these skills will then be transferred onto their resumes, which they will create at the end of the semester. Students will be creating a store logo and other merchandise designs to sell after the emporium is up and running. The store will start with basic school supplies, earbuds, snacks and drinks and then add Viking merchandise at a later time.
