My students are a wonderful bunch of kiddos. They live in a rural part of Arizona and attend a very low income school. My 5th graders have a great love of math. They look forward to this subject and try really hard to succeed. The great majority of them are struggling with basic math skills such as multiplication and division facts as well as problem solving strategies. To be successful and to excel is mandatory in my classroom. I see them thrive to reach excellence each and every day. I see great potential in each and every one of them.
