My students love using their hands to explore. What better way to do that than to give them daily access to a fun sensory bin! We use a large sensory bin every day in our classroom to learn a variety of skills. They work on fine motor skills, sorting. measuring, letter and number identification and so many other skills. This is definitely a favorite place for all of my students to go and explore.
Having access to sensory bins will help increase my students fine motor and academic skills. Students can use the sensory bins, hands-on literacy tools, and the other special items to enhance their learning. Hands-on learning tools will help them to process and store new information in their long-term memory!
The Hot Dots system will enhance independent learning by giving students immediate feedback with green lights and applause sounds for correct answers. This system will allow students to know if they are on the right track during center activities. At present the most difficult part of center activities for students is knowing if what they are doing is correct.
With Hot Dots students will receive immediate feedback and be able to discover for themselves that they are capable of success. The resources that I am requesting will benefit students during both Reading and Math. During Reading students will be able to work on phonics, word families, sight words and reading passages. During Math students will practice math facts and story problems. I have selected a variety of Hot Dot resources so that students will have plenty of choices when assigned to the Hot Dot center. Students will love to be assigned to this center because they will love the talking pen!
