Learning a new skill and sharing creative ideas leads to stronger communication skills. I feel as though using a 3D printer in my Computer Science classroom will help foster creativity and spark my students imaginations. A 3D printer will be used to open the students' minds up to critical thinking. They will understand how the use of digital design will translate into a physical object. Students will be faced with problem solving when projects do not turn out how they intended. Having access to a 3D printer will allow students to learn that each stage of the process is dependent upon what happens in the previous stages which provides each of them iterative skill development. My students will attain iterative and design thinking skills that they will be able to build on for years to come.
