Every one of these materials will be put to use in our classroom immediately. The books will go into special bins in our classroom library where children will have the opportunity to choose high interest, appropriately leveled books to engage them during independent and partner reading time.
All of the play items have been selected for their value in increasing opportunities for social and emotional learning as well as fine motor skills. The children will use these tools in small, self selected groups during our educational center time. Through play, they will practice language skills, sharing and appropriate ways to communicate about wants and disagreements. They will also develop fine motor skills which will help with skills such as handwriting, shoe tying, buttoning, zipping and more! They will truly be learning through play.
