With so much of our learning still on the computer during these crazy times, it is critical students have a set of working headphones. We utilize many educational online resources both in school and for students at home for reading and math. Luckily, our students have their own devices, but they do not have their own headphones. This has created a struggle for them as it can get loud in the classroom when they are all online and they struggle when at home, to focus. These would make a huge difference in their learning because it would allow them the ability to have uninterrupted practice on these educational programs to continue moving them up towards where they need to be at the end of second grade. Some special needs students in my class also struggle greatly with the noise of the classroom and require headphones so they do not become overwhelmed.
