I have chosen some furniture and decorations to lighten and cozy up my reading corner for my students, to make it more inviting and desirable. I feel my students would enjoy their silent reading time more in a relaxed and homey environment. I also like to use non-food items to reward my students for following our classroom reading expectations to keep them motivated and interested in reading. I use a point system in my classroom, and students who receive the most points in a given time frame are rewarded with an item of their choosing.
