A classroom carpet will serve as a meaningful place to have homeroom meetings and talk about our social emotional needs like practicing empathy and how to make our school and neighborhood community better. Students will also be able to sit here during my lesson and give themselves flexibility in their learning. We do a lot of collaboration in English so I imagine students discussing the content while on the carpet. Many of my students do not like to learn in a traditional desk and will find it easier to be focused here. This will be a game changer for our class!
