We are blessed with an entire wall of windows in my classroom. Outside these windows is a field of grass just waiting for a learning opportunity. We currently use our windows to study the birds, worms, butterflies, and such that visit. I teach themed units on gardening/farming, butterflies, and Earth/sky that spans several months. I would love to take their learning to the next level by not just observing the outdoors, but by working hands on with the outdoors. I plan to make an outdoor garden and have indoor gardening resources to support our learning. Our garden will be completely maintained by my little friends. Together we can enjoy the nourishment of our vegetable/fruit garden and enjoy the beauty of our flower garden that can bring more opportunities to study worms, butterflies, and so much more!
