My science students benefit by learning through creating models, collaborating, and inquiry-based activities. For example, for the project-based assessment of the human bodies system unit, students were given the challenge to use their science content knowledge to create a prosthetic arm. The project spanned over 2 weeks while student teams collaborated, tested, revised, and presented their final product. It was the favorite project of both my students and myself for the year. One of the greatest challenges of the project, however, is the small size of the room. Students have limited work and storage space for extended building projects and station activities.
Your donation for these classroom improvement supplies will provide the students with an uncluttered and more efficient use of space. The bookshelves and chair pockets will give students a place to keep their classroom and project materials. The easel and cart will free up counter space of science and class supplies so that the counters can be used by students. The students have such big ideas and they deserve to have the space to match them.
