I have an ethnically diverse group of students including gifted students, English language learners, and special needs students. Our school is a Title I school and provides breakfast and lunch at no cost. My kids work hard, but don't always have what is needed to succeed.
Our school has a 75% poverty rate and many students have enormous obstacles to overcome. Despite the challenges, my boys and girls are always eager to learn and thrive in the positive environment created in my classroom. I have 23 students who are active, energetic, and always on the move. Watching them grow from the beginning of the school year to the end always astounds me and their enthusiasm for learning amazes me.
