My students are always up and working around the classroom. I tell them that as long as they are working, they can sit, stand, kneel, or lay down. More flexible seating will allow them to be working in spaces all around the room while completing their activities.
These seating options also allow my students who need more movement to get it all day long! My students are in school for seven hours each day, so movement is an important part of our classroom environment. Wobble cushions, balance balls, and a couch area provide an excellent alternative to a standard chair. Clipboards will give them a comfortable surface to do their work on.
