The resources chosen to fulfill this project include 2 trumpets, 2 alto saxophones, and a box of 25 saxophone reeds. Several of my 5th grade students would love to play the trumpet and alto saxophone this year but do not have an instrument. With your help, I can furnish 4 students with brand new instruments to borrow for the year. Additionally, the saxophone players will appreciate having extra reeds if their reeds chip. The instruments currently owned by my district are in poor condition. Students have much more success learning how to play an instrument that is shiny and new, not broken.
