My students are eager to learn and love to read. When they complete an assignment, they are asking to read a book. They first began "reading" books by creating their own stories. Now, they have learned how to decode words and place those sounds in real words.
Our school does not have access to many current materials and some of the children are not read to at home by their parents. This would give them the opportunity to experience the wonders of books on their own.
